Save the date ♥

By the time Mark proposed to me, I have been a keen member of Female Network, to the extent that my blog even got featured on one of their segmens.  😀 I subscribed to more than 20 threads and was lucky enough to find an idea from other bride to be’s too. Most of the ideas I’ve posted here on my blog, and will be executed on our wedding day actually came from my online friends, who eventually turned out to be my friends.
Yes, it’s really hard to plan for a wedding most especially if a bride doesn’t have a wedding planner. However, since hiring a professional wedding planner can get a big chunk of the wedding expenses, Mark and I just opted to plan the wedding by ourselves plus with the help of our friends too.
Looking at my posts from the previous months, I can truly say that I have already gone a long way and can really feel that we’re almost getting there. I feel so proud that Mark and I were able to do all these things.
So for all our friends, who have received the link for our wedding website, we hope that you can join our most-awaited day! Please do save the date for our intimate wedding.

Online Save-the-Date ♥

To cut down wedding costs, Mark and I mutually decided to have an online Save-the-Date instead, rather than have the cards printed out. It’s not just practical, but the information that we’re going to tell our guests are not that limited. Usually, the information on the STD cards only includes the date of the wedding and the church where the wedding ceremony would take place.

Here are some actual STD cards grabbed from Wink’s website:

But since we’ll have it posted online (Thank you so much Wix!), we get to inform our guests, a brief background about the wedding.

The design we were supposed to print out for our Save-the-Date cards, became the background for the main page on the website. But of course, only the guests will be informed the actual link of the website. We don’t want to divulge and inform every one  the website link. LOL. Here’s a glimpse of how the actual website looks like:

Disclaimer: The background has been truncated for privacy purposes. hehe!

Suppliers list

Guests can check all the information about the wedding. Starting from the wedding date, down to our wedding motif. =) There is also a link on the website for the virtual map where guests can check how to go to the church and reception.

Total savings: 1,500 plus taxes– (1,500 is still 1,500) – we can already buy a lot of stuff with this amount!  The last time I checked w/ Wink, their STD costs 15 per piece and minimum order would be 100 pieces. Tee Hee, we’re only eyeing for 100 guests, and I don’t think we have to give each and every one of them an STD card. LOL. We don’t want to throw the extra pieces, or keep em’ on a treasure box. hehe. But we’ll surely get their services for our wedding invitations. =)

Save-the-Date Cards

Before, I thought of giving candies, marshmallows, jelly beans in a mini jar as our save the date for our guests. I even thought of giving mini oatmeal cookies wrapped with our own wedding labels on it.

However, since designing our own save the date cards and have it printed on a printing store is more practical; Mark and I decided to have it this way instead.

 — I am still undecided what design to choose since I am still waiting the layout that our P/V will create for us. In the meantime, here are the samples.
Disclaimer: Undisclosed wedding date 😉

One of  my friends said that these STD cards look like an invitation for a debut or a children’s party. But I find it so elegant & sophisticated – it’s so ME! But, I’m not the only one who’s getting married! LOL. But still, it remains to be seen, whether we’re going to use these designs or not. ☻

Save the Date

I have been raving about Save-the-date ideas lately, and still quite confuse what concept to use. Last time, I was crazy about empty jars with cookie drops on it, but right now, I’m looking into putting cookies on an acetate box, and stick our monogram on it. I know this is an extra expense on our budget, but I’m willing to save an extra just for this favor. 😀
Here are the ideas I have in mind:

Or if this concept is already out of the budget, probably this jpeg file would do, and we’ll send it out via email. LOL
